FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [July 30, 2001]
Portland doctor
launches PocketPractitioner™ for tracking patient histories on handheld
devices.
Portland, OR (July 26, 2001) - PocketMedTools™
(www.pocketmedtools.com <http://www.pocketmedtools.com> ) announced the launch of one of the most
robust PDA tools for the medical profession – PocketPractitioner™, and
its PC equivalent PocketPractitionerOffice™.
PocketPractitioner contains a complete software application
built for the Palm OS. It provides medical practitioners with the ability to easily
track patient histories, diagnoses and procedures. It contains security
features designed to help meet the new federal HIPAA requirements for the
protection of patient information.
Using a beta test group of 35 medical practitioners who were assembled
from medical groups over the Internet, Dr. Jon Blackman has been testing and
enhancing this product. Two years in the making, this new software answers the
needs of medical practitioners. It puts the patient's history and procedures
right in the pocket of the health care professional.
Using PocketPractitioner for the Palm, a practitioner can
update patient data as they go, easily capturing changes in diagnoses and
medical notes. Then, when back at the office, the Palm can be synced to a PC
for generation and printing of reports.
PocketPractitionerOffice™ contains the complete Palm
application, a complete Desktop application, plus the complete CPT™ procedural codes and IDC-9 diagnostic codes licensed from the AMA.
This version offers a rock-solid business application built on Microsoft Access
(runtime included), designed to keep track of billing for small and large
offices alike, at a fraction of the cost of comparable solutions.
About PocketMedTools
PocketMedTools was created as a web-based portal designed to offer
handheld solutions for the mobile professional medical community. PocketPractitioner
and PocketPractitionerOffice are the first of these tools.
