PocketPractitioner™ 2002 Delivers Integrated Patient Tracking

and Billing Software for Doctors and Clinics

Portland, OR  - Pocket Informatics LLC announced the launch of its new suite of medical applications for use on the Palm OS and Windows PC -- PocketPractitioner™ 2002 Basic, PocketPractitioner 2002 Professional and PocketPractitioner 2002 Office.

The patient tracking application was first introduced last summer. Since then over 3,000 of the software applications have been downloaded via the web by medical practitioners from all over the world. Today, PocketPractitioner 2002 represents a complete suite of fully-integrated tools for use on the Palm OS and Windows PC.

The PocketPractitioner Suite of Tools provides medical practitioners with a fully integrated patient tracking and billing system created by a doctor for use in clinical settings. Its use is simple and intuitive. It was designed for use at the point-of-care by medical practitioners to improve patient tracking, capture diagnoses and procedural histories, as well as decrease billing errors.

“Case studies have shown that charge capture at the point-of-care with a handheld PDA [personal digital assistant] saves time, increases accuracy, improves charge capture and reduces lost billings. One study showed that charge capture on cognitive skills [CPT 90000 codes] increased 77% and all other procedures increased 16%.  A conservative estimate for the additional billing a small clinic with six doctors can recover is estimated to be $86,400 per year.  Not to mention a handheld patient tracking application can save substantial time transcribing notes into patient records,” said Dr. Jon Blackman, application designer.
